The trough is designed to be used on Crown land range sites for spring-summer-fall grazing (the trough is not designed for winter use). The trough will water at least 6 cows at one time and require no additional post & rail structure for stabilization. Simple to install, winterize and maintain.
Trough Specifications
- Made of welded 3/16 inch mild steel plate with flat ends and sloped sides.
- Approximately 8 feet long, 2 feet high and 4 feet wide at the top tapering to 3 feet wide at the base.
- Capacity of approximately 300 US gallons (with a 2 inch freeboard)
- Weighs approximately 700 pounds
- Inlet and outlet piping enters from underneath the trough so none is exposed to potential damage from livestock or vandals.
- Overflow drain is welded onto outflow end plate
- Iron braces are welded on both width and length wise at top of trough
- A “critter escape” is included on two of the four inside corners (see attached sample photo) to provide small mammals a means to escape the water if they have fallen into the trough.
